Dr. Michael Abrams
Dr. Michael Abrams is a certified Orthodontist and Periodontist with a wide range of clinical skills and experiences.

He obtained his bachelors degree from CUNY Queens College, and attended dental school at Columbia University. At Columbia, Dr. Abrams was taught the academic and clinical skills necessary for a dual residency program.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Abrams moved to Philadelphia, PA, where he completed the prestigious Periodontics/Orthodontics combined dual specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania. Training in an academic institution afforded Dr. Abrams the opportunity to gain a comprehensive appreciation for all aspects of specialized and general dentistry.
He gained excellent experience with orthognathic surgical cases, as well as the management of cleft palate patients.
Periodontics has afforded Dr. Abrams an aptitude in CBCT evaluation for improved diagnosis, non-surgical and surgical approaches to the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease, implantology, and “gingival plastic surgery” procedures, including root coverage, gingival augmentation, and aesthetic crown lengthening.
In studying Orthodontics, Dr. Abrams came to learn various treatment techniques with different orthodontic appliances at various phases of treatment, with fixed twin and self ligating systems, Invisalign®, Lingual braces, palatal expanders, and temporary anchorage devices.
Dr. Abrams has trained in a number of treatment philosophies, and enjoys exploring new technologies in both of his main fields—Periodontics and Orthodontics. Innovations in dentistry arise often, and it is important to stay up to date with these advances.
He is a certified provider of Wilckodontics® Periodontally Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics. This technique offers a procedure to enhance and accelerate the outcome of the orthodontic treatment.
Further, the uniqueness of his dual-specialty training allows Dr. Abrams to provide a continuum of care to his patients, such as unifying extractions and dental implant planning in relation to orthodontic treatment.
While Dr. Abrams certainly enjoys creating beautiful and healthy smiles, he also enjoys hanging out with friends and family, cooking, and rollerblading.
